Welt Hunger Hilfe Expert @ BMS

Grade 12 DP Geography students studying Human Geography welcomed an expert from the Welt Hunger Hilfe to speak about current projects aimed at eradicating global famine. In addition to fielding questions from the students, Mr. Fraser-Patterson presented the latest outcomes of the Global Hunger Index 2016 and explained how hunger is calculated across the globe. Throughout this semester, students have learned how sustainable development goals (SDGs) are both created and implemented in countries where poverty, famine, and living conditions negatively affect overall development. Mr. Fraser-Patterson presented on the SDGs and how the Welt Hunger Hilfe uses these goals to help combat global hunger through their 2017-2030 strategy to achieve the goal of zero hunger.
