As part of our CAS project in collaboration with Fire House, we are collecting donations for the biggest refugee camp in Berlin. The donations will be going to the refugee camp “Schmidt-Knobelsdorf-Kaserne”, which is led by the the social service provider Prisod. In addition to initial accommodation facilities and community accommodation, Prisod operates several emergency accommodations for refugees, asylum seekers and even the homeless. In total, there are currently 18 housing projects in Berlin in which approximately 6,360 people from more than 25 different countries of origin have found a temporary home. The donations raised from BMS will go a long way in helping to ensure that those in the community less fortunate than ourselves are able to obtain the support and assistance they need to fully integrate into Berlin. Any donations not used in conjunction with the refugee camp will be donated to the Berliner Kältehilfe and Ukraine-Hilfe.
The current needs are as follows:
-Clothes (urgent: Jeans)
-Sneakers, Flip Flops
-Toys and games
-Bike helmets, Bikes
