Visit to the German Resistance Memorial Center

Within their studies of authoritarian states and the treatment of opposition in these states, the Grade 11 IB DP History course went to the German Resistance Memorial Center to examine how individual persons and groups took action against the National Socialist dictatorship from 1933 to 1945 and made use of what freedom of action they had.

Following the exhibition tour, the students formed small groups to take an in-depth look at certain aspects of resistance against National Socialism, especially the question of how people exerted resistance against the National Socialist dictatorship, what motives and goals they had, and what they planned for the time after National Socialism.
